Maigari Commends Imoke
The President of Nigeria Football Association, Aminu Maigari, has expressed appreciation to Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River State for donating the sum of Ten million naira to members of Super Eagles for beating the Madagascar National Team.
The Super Eagles through Obafemi Martins and Mike Eneramo scored a goal each to defeat the Madagascarside by two unreplied goals in a match played at the U.J Esuenne Stadium, Calabar in the African Nations Cup qualifier.
The Governor made the donation through his deputy at a banguet dinner organised for players and officials of the super eagles at the state house shortly after the game.
The NFA President, who was full of praises to the Governor for hosting the team and the financial support, said the NFA was very pleased with the football loving Governor whom he described as a true patriot who has the love of sports at heart.
Meanwhile, Maigari, has extended his appreciation to the Government and good people of Cross River State, Security Agencies and most importantly, the passionate Football loving fans of Calabar over their excellent conduct and support given to the team during the 2012 African Cup of nation qualifiers.
